"The Giver" is a 2014 Canadian-American-South African social science fiction film directed by Phillip Noyce. It is based on the 1993 novel of the same name by Lois Lowry.
"The Giver," featuring both Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges, tells a futuristic tale in which a young boy is chosen to become his supposedly utopian society's next Giver, a mysterious role that leads to many surprises and questions. Taylor portrays Rosemary, a young girl who was originally chosen to become the next Giver but didn't quite make it.
"The Giver" premiered on August 11, 2014 and was released theatrically in the United States on August 15, 2014. The film earned $67 million on a $25 million budget. It received a People's Choice Award nomination for "Favorite Dramatic Movie".
