On August 20, 2007, Taylor continued to enjoy steady album sales as her self-titled debut CD stayed at the top of the Billboard's country albums chart for a fourth week.
In addition, Taylor was also chosen as the face of Verizon's "Wireless' Mobile Music" campaign. Her image was used in all print and in-store advertising, and she was featured in a full-page ad in the New York Times. Taylor had embraced the world of technology in a big way, resulting in major radio airplay, downloads and retail sales.
Taylor was also featured on 500,000 bags of popcorn in multiple movie theaters across the country that November as part of a "Verizon Wireless Music" campaign.
In 2009, Verizon Wireless announced that Taylor's "Fearless Tour 2009" would provide a number of exclusive interactive activities solely for Verizon Wireless customers.
One of Taylor’s tour stops was Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria, Va. for a private concert. Students won the campus concert by participating in the "Verizon Wireless Taylor Swift High School" contest having had the highest number of qualified entries of the thousands of participating high schools. “Taylor Swift is unequivocally one of the hottest artists in the nation right now,” said Ed Ruth, director of digital content and programming for Verizon. “We are honored to work with Taylor to make her highly-anticipated first U.S. headline tour and the exclusive music developed from our mobile recording studio bus available to customers.”
