Taylor completed her most recent stadium tour in November, but at the 2019 TIME 100 Gala in New York City on April 23, she took to the stage once more for a performance that left the audience of fellow TIME 100 honorees rapt.
Taylor's impact on the world is being celebrated. On Wednesday, she was named one of TIME's 100 Most Influential People. Taylor also scored one of six covers for this year's magazine, the others of which went to Dwayne Johnson, Sandra Oh, Gayle King, politician Nancy Pelosi and soccer star Mohamed Salah.
Before the Harvey Weinstein allegations broke, and before #MeToo swept the Internet, Taylor Swift testified in court on Aug. 10 about being assaulted in a room full of people. Swift, who TIME recognized as one of the Silence Breakers who inspired women to speak out about harassment in this year’s Person of the Year issue, granted TIME her first interview since the trial.
