Taylor returned to "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" Wednesday for her first interview with the TV host in four years – and brought a mea culpa with her.
While playing the show's "burning questions" game, DeGeneres asked Swift about her biggest "teenage rebellion," to which Swift replied, "Probably when I like put Joe Jonas on blast on your show," referring to the time that she trash-talked her ex-boyfriend during a 2008 "Ellen" appearance following their breakup.
"That was too much, that was too much," Swift added, reminding DeGeneres that she was 18 at the time. "We laugh about it now, but that was mouthy, yeah, some teenage stuff there." "That's held onto you because I don't remember that at all," DeGeneres admitted.
Back in 2008, Swift told DeGeneres that she and Jonas "haven't talked" since their breakup, "but you know what? Someday I'm gonna find someone really, really great who's right for me ... When I look at that person, I’m not even going to remember the boy who broke up with me over the phone in 25 seconds when I was 18."
The 29-year-old singer, who is making the publicity rounds after releasing her new "ME" single last month, also debunked fan rumors that she was linked to the new "Avengers: Endgame" movie, because of the title's similarity to her 2017 "Endgame" single.
"There were some fans who thought I had something to do with 'Avengers: Endgame,' which I would have loved to have been asked, but I wasn't asked to be in it at all," Swift said, before joking, "We had the ('ME') single coming out the same day (as the movie's release) and I have a song that was called 'Endgame,' so they were like, 'Oh my god, she's gonna defeat Thanos,' and I let everyone down, again."
And for eagle-eyed fans watching the "Ellen" interview for Easter eggs about her forthcoming album, Swift also revealed that she sprinkled clues about her new music throughout her chat with DeGeneres.
