Fans waited a long three years for Taylor to deliver "reputation", her follow-up to 2014's "1989", but the timeline until her next album release might not be quite so far away.
Taylor, who will be 29 this December, said she'll be releasing another album prior to turning 30, according to a video blog posted by Perez Hilton after he spoke with her backstage at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles Saturday night (May 19). That means a new album is on the horizon for 2019 at the latest.
The pair had a conversation on the "Delicate" singer's second night in town, where she was performing on her "reputation Stadium Tour", and Perez recounted quite a bit of it in his update.
"What I did say to Taylor was I would love it if the next album had a song called '30' to keep up the continuation - she had 'Fifteen,' she had '22,'" he says in the clip, referring to tracks off of Swift's "Fearless" and "RED" albums.
And then came the reveal: "She's like, 'Oh, well, the next album will definitely be out before I'm 30.'"
Before the three-year break between "1989" and "reputation", Swift was on a regular schedule with putting out new music. She's released albums in the fall of 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014 and then, of course, 2017.
Perez, who took his son to the show, is hoping to hear a "full-on return to country," though he admits that's an unlikely move for the pop star at this point.
